The Mindful Leader
The Mindful Leader
Is it possible to be mindful and a great Educator at the same time?
In our fast-paced environment, we’re constantly required to shift our attention throughout the day. Unfortunately, this constant switching keeps our nervous system aroused and we produce high levels of cortisol, the main stress hormone responsible for the fight-or-flight response.
In this amazing 3-part series we explore what it takes to be a Mindful Leader whilst responding to the challenging and reactive demands of Children and Staff. You’ll discover how to incorporate mindfulness into your life on a daily basis so that you can overcome stress and reduce the fight or flight response.
Session 1 - What is mindfulness and how does it serve me as a leader?
In this first session you will discover what mindfulness is and how it can serve you as a leader. We will also dispel the common beliefs and misconceptions about who meditation and mindfulness is for.
Session 2 - How to tame the mind monkeys
In this session we will explore the different mindfulness techniques so that you can find the right tools that best suit you and your personality.
Session 3 - How to be mindful at work and setting up a daily practice.
In this final part of the series we will talk about implementing mindfulness at work and how you can set up a daily practice that will enable you to become the mindful leader.
Mindfulness practice is the easiest and most reliable way to calm the nervous system, reverse stress patterns, increase positivity and develop resilience.
Extensive research has shown that mindfulness training can:
- Improve your physical and mental health
- help you have a calmer, more focused presence
- improve your self-esteem and self-confidence
- improve your concentration, memory and effective decision-making.
